The first author of the words “you can’t understand someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes” is lost in American history. But its meaning and the importance of empathy has stuck.

Our annual fundraising campaign, PUT YOURSELF IN HER H.E.E.L.S. – started in 2013 – and supports women and women with children who walk through our doors. Some arrive in the middle of the day, others in the dark of night. Always, they come in need and often at their lowest point in life. The dollars you give supports our programming that Help, Encourage, Empower, Lift, and Support our clients, as they navigate life and get back on their feet. 

Join us this year for the month of October to imagine life in HER H.E.E.L.S. 

We’re opening our doors from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the YWCA of Central Indiana. Come see where we work, live, learn and imagine a better a future for the women and the women with children we serve.
