Meet the Men of In Her HEELS: Jeremy Allison

At our signature event, Put Yourself in Her Heels, community men put on heels to bring awareness to who the YWCA is and what we bring to the women and children of East Central Indiana. So, who are some of these men?

Meet Jeremy Allison. Jeremy is the Senior Relationship Manager at PrimeTrust Financial Federal Credit Union. He is married to, in his view, “the best nurse in the world,” and they have a 4-year old son and another boy on the way.

Among the many hats Jeremy wears, he says he is most proud of his role as leader of the Financial Literacy Team. He works with the residents at the YWCA, helping to ensure that they have a better Brammer_YWinherheels_065understanding of their finances, which in turn helps them to be successful once they leave the YWCA.

Working with the YWCA in this way, Jeremy has seen in the impact the Y has on women and the community. He says he felt compelled to walk In Her Heels to help raise awareness about the YWCA, its great staff and the wonderful work they do.

I asked Jeremy what In Her Heels means to him: “The event is a chance for me to put myself in ‘their heels’ literally and figuratively. This event gets me thinking about what the ladies deal with that end up needing to utilize the YWCA for a hand up, not a hand out. It reminds me how brave they are to come forth and ask for help, and it reminds me that no matter what you’re going through, when you are part of a community who cares, there is always someone willing to help. I enjoy seeing the residents and staff of the YWCA having fun and smiling during the event! My most memorable experience for the event was last year, when a resident who I see pretty often through the Financial Literacy courses gave me a huge hug and said thanks for being out there to support them. It’s my favorite because they are the reason I choose to partake in this event.”

This will be Jeremy’s third year walking In Her Heels, but he says he has yet to win an award. Let’s help him change that this year. Come down and see Jeremy and all the guys strut their stuff, and donate $5 per vote to choose the best team of guys and support the YWCA.
