Meet the Men of In Her HEELS: Ryan Kramer

At our signature event, Put Yourself in Her Heels, community men put on heels to bring awareness to who the YWCA is and what we bring to the women and children of East Central Indiana. So, who are some of these men?

Meet Ryan Kramer. Ryan (pictured far right) is a real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Lundsford and a licensed auctioneer who enjoys donating time for charity auctions in the community. Ryan and his wife Sarah have three Brammer_YWinherheels_035children, two boys and a girl. Ryan says, “Faith is a big part of my life, and that drives me to help people as I am able to do so.”

Ryan participated in Put Yourself in Her Heels for the first time last year, after being approached by a member of the YWCA staff. He admits to being a little hesitant to put on heels at first, as he suspects most men would. Once he did it, however, he had a lot of fun contributing to a great cause and couldn’t be happier.

To any guys who feel hesitant about putting on heels and strutting their stuff for the Y, Ryan’s advice is, “Just do it! When you are on a team of other guys doing the same thing, it makes it a lot easier to put yourself in front of a crowd and in those uncomfortable heels. You can take them off as soon as you are done; trust me, I did.”

When I asked Ryan what he enjoyed most about the experience last year, he said: “I enjoy that it helps women in our community on a daily basis in so many areas of their lives.   Last year, one of the ladies from the Y was volunteering at Walk in Her Heels, and it made a big impact of how appreciative she was Brammer_YWinherheels_014and how eager she was to help the cause that was specifically impacting her life.   Hard to think of our community without this wonderful organization.”

Ryan plans to walk again this year at Put Yourself in Her Heels. Come down and see him, and all the guys, strut their stuff and donate $5 per vote to choose the best team of guys and support the YWCA.
