Put Yourself In Her HEELS is back!
The YW’s signature event, Put Yourself In Her HEELS is back! HEELS is a unique event that raises awareness and support for the YWCA Central Indiana’s Emergency Shelter and Transitions Program for women and children. Join us as we celebrate the successes achieved by the women of the YWCA through their own hard work combined with the YW’s programs and guidance.
This year’s HEELS extravaganza will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 9:30am, at downtown Muncie’s Canan Commons. By 10:45 am, recognizable community men will step up on the main stage individually or in teams, wearing women’s heeled shoes. They bravely strut their stuff to help raise funds for the YWCA by encouraging spectators and community members to vote for their favorite high heeled team. Also included are food trucks and bounce houses for this family-friendly event, along with Corn Hole, basketball toss, and other backyard games. Challenge your favorite participant to a rousing game of Corn Hole – in heels!
All proceeds collected go directly to help the women and children who seek a safe place to stay at the YWCA, whether it be for one night or a year. In 2015, the YWCA provided shelter for nearly 500 women and children, with an average stay of 55 days. Mark your calendars for this important fundraiser supporting the YWCA!
If this is your first time hearing about the event and you have not previously participated, no worries. You have plenty of time to find a pair of heels to fit and confirm a spot on stage! We encourage teams (or solo participants) from all over the Muncie area to join the fun.
